On January 28, 2011 The Quality Barometer 2010 - Status of Quality in Romanian Higher Education was launched in Brașov, in the presence of the rectors of universities, their representatives and other personalities in the field of Higher Education. The Quality Barometer 2010 is a result of activity 2, Quality Assurance in Higher Education, in the project financed by the European Social Fund within the Sectoral Operational Programme for Human Resources Development, entitled “Quality assurance in the Romanian higher education in European context. Development of academic quality management at system and institutional level” (contract no.: POSDRU/2/1.2/S/1), project implemented by ARACIS in partnership with the European University Association (EUA). The authors of this work are, in alphabetical order: Bogdan Florian, Iulia Gheorghiu, Marian-Gabriel Hâncean, Andrada Istrate, Adrian Miroiu, Mihai Păunescu, Valentin Stanciu, Alina Tăriceanu, Claudiu Tufiș, Lazăr Vlăsceanu, Bogdan Voicu.
The Quality Barometer is at the second edition, being realized annually. It represents an analysis of different data sources, consisting of national panel surveys on populations of students, teachers and employers, as well as in-depth interviews with students and other key actors in the Romanian Higher Education system. This paper provides an analysis of the quality status at system level and it’s not related to quality status of certain organizations of Higher Education, but their assembly.
