Iordan PETRESCU Prof. CEng. PhD, has an extensive experience in the field of quality assurance in Higher Education, being President and member of the Council of the Romanian Agency for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (ARACIS) (2013 – 2021), as well as an external evaluator and President of the Distance Education Experts Permanent Commission, since its inception 2000. For two years (2012-2014) he was advisor in Ministry of Education in the field of administration, management and quality assurance in Higher Education. As a manager and director, he coordinated educational projects at both national and international levels, financed by Tempus, the World Bank, and European funds, obtained by competition, with the aim of developing methodologies and procedures for quality assurance in higher education.

Mr. Iordan Petrescu has a PhD in Civil Engineering at Technical University of Civil Engineering from Bucharest and a more than 40 years long academic career. He is currently professor in the Department of Structural Mechanics, with an extensive research activity in different areas of transport infrastructure and, as result, he has published several books and over 245 scientific articles, specialized projects, technical expertise, etc. He has been active in the field of university management for over 20 years, serving as the scientific secretary of the senate, vice-dean, and vice-rector.
