Frequently Asked Questions
1. How can I find out if a study programme or higher education institution is accredited or provisionally authorized to operate?
To verify the provisional authorization and/or accreditation of bachelor’s and master’s study programmes, select the year of publication of the normative act corresponding to the first year of study.
For example, if the first year of study corresponds to the 2015-2016 academic year, consult Government Decision (HG) 575/2015, supplemented by HG 781/2015 for bachelor’s programmes, and HG 595/2015, supplemented by HG 778/2015 for master’s programmes.

2. What is the National Register of Evaluators?
The National Register of Expert Evaluators consists of: the National Register of Expert Evaluators (academic staff), the National Register of Student Expert Evaluators, the Register of International Expert Evaluators, and the Employers’ Register.
To fulfill its responsibilities, ARACIS maintains its own register of evaluators, based on a methodology and using criteria of competence and competitiveness, and delegates them to conduct external quality evaluation missions.
The National Register of Student Expert Evaluators (RNE-S) is updated after the completion of student training sessions in the field of external quality assurance in higher education.
After the training sessions, student federations request ARACIS to include in the RNE-S those students who participated in the training session and met the evaluation criteria. Once included in the RNE-S, students become registered student evaluators and may be nominated by student federations to participate in external evaluation visits.
The RNE-S is also updated at the beginning of each academic year.
3. How can I become an ARACIS student evaluator?
Before following the steps to register in the National Register of Student Evaluators (RNE-S), the interested person must be a student and a member of a student federation with national representation. RNE-S includes only students enrolled in Romania.
Students interested in becoming evaluators must first participate in a training session on external quality assurance in higher education, organized by national student federations with the support of ARACIS.
These training sessions are usually organized annually by ARACIS together with the three national student federations:
National Alliance of Student Organizations in Romania (ANOSR)
National Union of Students in Romania (UNSR)
Union of Students in Romania (USR)
The purpose of the training sessions is to provide students with the necessary preparation to acquire the status of ARACIS student evaluator.
Students who participate in the training session and meet the evaluation criteria will be included in the National Register of ARACIS Student Evaluators (RNE-S) and will be able to participate in the external quality evaluation missions conducted by the agency.
Subsequently, students registered in the RNE-S may be selected to join the Permanent Expert Specialty Committees. Additional details are available in the Procedure for the Selection and Appointment of Students as Members of the Permanent Specialty Commissions.
4. How are students involved in external evaluation panels?
Student evaluators participate in external evaluation missions conducted by ARACIS, as described in the Procedure for Appointing Members of Expert Evaluator Commissions within the external evaluation processes of bachelor’s study programmes and master’s degree study domains.
