Background

ARACIS has been a member of the European Consortium for Accreditation in Higher Education (ECA) since September 2022, when the agency’s application was approved.

Membership of the Consortium gives the Agency the possibility to award the ECA Certificate of Quality in Internationalisation, which certifies that study programmes or institutions have successfully incorporated significant international and intercultural dimensions in their work. The ECA Certificate of Quality in Internationalisation can be awarded following an external evaluation carried out by ARACIS in accordance with the ECA Methodology.

Activities within ECA

As a member of the ECA, ARACIS participates in events organised by the Consortium, such as seminars, working groups or training, and has the possibility to access the services and assistance offered by the ECA, as well as opportunities for networking and exchange of good practices.

Furthermore, ARACIS has the opportunity to submit contributions for publication in the ECA Newsletter. Thus, the December 2025 edition of the ECA Newsletter published an article on the webinars and the international anniversary conference organized by the agency throughout 2025 to mark the 20th anniversary since its establishment.

Another contribution of the agency to the ECA Newsletter consisted of an article on the external evaluation of the European Universities Alliance – UNITA, published in the December 2023 edition.
