
Secretary General of the ARACIS Council
Marius Gabriel Petrescu is a professor at the Petroleum-Gas University of Ploiești (UPG). He holds a PhD in Mechanical Engineering, specializing in Petroleum Equipment (Petrochemical and Refining Equipment). Graduated from the I.N.D.E. (INDE Bucharest in partnership with CNAM Paris) postgraduate academic courses in the field of “Economic Development of Enterprises” – Executive MBA.
He is a PhD supervisor in the field of Mechanical Engineering and Director of the Doctoral School of the Petroleum-Gas University of Ploiești.
He has extensive experience in management and quality assurance in higher education. He held the position of Head of the Quality Management Department at UPG from 2004 to 2012 – developing and implementing specific methodologies for internal quality assurance in higher education – and, from 2012 to 2020, the position of President of the Monitoring Commission of the Internal Managerial Control System at UPG.
He is a certified auditor for quality management systems (ISO 9001).
Since 2007, he has been an ARACIS evaluator expert within the C14 committee – Institutional Evaluation Committee for Management and Financial Activities. Since 2022, he has been a member of the ARACIS Council, in which capacity he has contributed to the development and implementation of numerous specific methodologies and standards for quality assurance in higher education. Since January 2024, he has been the Secretary General of the ARACIS Council.
